Santa came to Town

Our Ward Christmas breakfast was this last Saturday morning. We went and enjoyed scones, sausages, fruit, juice and milk. It was really nice. The best part though is when Santa came. The little kids loved it. They each got to sit on his lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. They got a candy cane. Here are a few pics that I snapped of each kid who sat on Santa's lap.

The Bloody Toe!

loooong night. When the Doc finally got the chance to look at it the bleeding had slowed a little. But as soon as he cleaned it off it started all over again. He tried to stop it but had no luck. He finally decides to remove the nail. The nail had snapped right at the base of his nail bed. So he removed the nail...which I dealt with really well. It wasn't until an hour of him messing around with it and him finally leaving that it hit me. UGH!!! I almost passed out. They got me on the bed next to Cody and put cold rags on my head. I felt sick. I don't have a strong stomach for that stuff and that was REALLY bad! Anyhow I felt better after about 30 minutes and Codys toe was still bleeding. The Doc said that he could go home and keep it up. He was going to call the Podiatrist first thing in the morning. So we went home, very tired! The Podiatrist call early the next day. We were there by 9am. When he took the bandage off (that had bled through) Codys toe was STILL bleeding. They figured the nail nicked an artery when it snapped. He just bandaged it up again and told him to stay off it for the next few days. He did. He kept it up high and got treated like royalty. Everyone waited on him. He loved it. We went back to the Podiatrist on the following Monday and he said that it looked ok and said that it should start getting better. It did finally stop bleeding for the most part! It was quite the adventure!

Thanksgiving Time

This is our dear friend Tom Turkey. He joins us every year for our Thanksgiving feast. He hasn't yet gotten dress for the occasion. We told him that we would help him get ready. When we were done dressing him up we invited him to warm up next to the fire. And told him to let us baste him with oils so he wouldn't get burned. He gladly obliged. He was such a good sport. Everyone really enjoyed having him around. The kids REALLY enjoyed him a lot. Thanks Tom for always coming to our Thanksgiving day dinner. You were awesome as usual.

Thanksgiving this year was very quiet. It was just our 'little' family. We didn't do much but hang out and relax most of the day. The kids played with some friends around the block for awhile. And we at. That was about it.

I must say that I do like to reflect back on the year and take note of all the things that I am grateful for. I'm so grateful for my family. For the love they show me. For my friends who are there when I need them and for all the many blessings we receive each year. My heart if full with Thanks.

Hey...Stop talking.

We're hungry...

Can we please

EEEEKKK!!

I'm very FRUSTRATED with this blog!!!! It took me forever to get that last blog published! I must SERIOUSLY be blog challenged. I think I type and retyped that post at least 5 or 6 different times! Not to mention that I uploaded those Pics a million and one times! ARGH! If I have that problem again I will SCREAM... Well OK I guess I'm done venting. I feel better. Thanks for reading.
Hope you all have a great day!

Halloweeen Fuuun!

Halloween was great this year. The kids were off from school and we partied all day long. We made caramel apples. Then we made "Creepy Crawlers" for, at least, 2 hours. They loved that. We then had a feast...BBQ Hot Dogs, Baked Beans, Chips and Soda. After our early dinner the kids decorated rice crispy squares into FRANKENSTIENs! They were really cute and oh so yummy! When the food was gone and
cleaned up everyone was anxious to get on their costumes. We sprayed hair different colors, put on scars and blood, painted up faces, ratted out hair, and put on a variety of costumes. It was all very fun. One everybody was ready...off we went. We love to TRICK or TREAT our neighborhood because it's pretty flat and because there is always GREAT candy and treats. Full size candy bars, Sunny D drinks, popcorn balls. You name it, they got it! Surprised they didn't get a stomach too. We were out for about 2 hours begging
for goodies. It all paid off in the end. Everyone was very please with their STASH of TRASH (food).

Happy Halloween.....

Brynn's BIRTHDAY Present

Wow! I can't believe that our little princess is 5 already! Time sure does race by us, doesn't it?! For the past year or so Brynn has been asking to have her ears pierced. Steve told her that she could have them done on her 5th birthday. The day/night before her birthday (which was yesterday 10/22) all she could talk about was getting her ears pierced. She asked Steve if she should take a bath before she went so that she would be all clean. She couldn't go to sleep, until after midnight. All she could do was SMILE!!! If you said anything about her birthday or her ears a HUGE smile would creep up her face. It was soooo funny. I can't believe that she was so excited! So yesterday, her birthday, she was up bright and early. "When are we going to get my ears pierced?" she kept asking. Finally, after her SHOWER, we go ready to go. We took some pics of her ears before the big event! See, virgin ears! Such a cutie! We jumped in the car and headed to Wal-Mart. When we got there we showed her all the pretty earring and let her choose which ones she wanted. She choose the pretty pink flowers with clear centers. We told the clerk and she pulled them out. The clerk told us that we should do both ears at once so it would be faster. Less traumatic. But the other girl would be back in 45 minutes. We said ok and then went looking around the store. When were are walking around she decided that she wanted to wait til she was 6, then 51 and then settled on 8. We told her that she had to do it today because they were already waiting for her. When we returned they were waiting. She wanted to sit on my lap. They cleaned her ears and she giggled. They marked them and she smiled. When they pulled out the piercing guns, she FREAKED! So, needless to say, I had to hold her down while they did each ear separate. But finally through all the squirming and screaming, IT WAS DONE! And she was FINE! She is really glad that she got them done. She says they are still a little sore but she has been great about turning them and having me put the solution on them. She keeps looking at them in the mirror. She looks BEAUTIFUL! Maybe she will get new earrings for Christmas.

Ooops, I cut my hair!

BEFORE>>>

Yesterday as we were watching conference Ty went upstairs. Now he goes upstairs all the time. Nothing unusual. I called him and he didn't answer. Carson went to see what he was doing. As fast as he could run back, he reported that Ty was cutting his hair. OH NO!!!!! We RAN upstairs. IT was horrible. His beautiful blond hair now had a big chunk out of the front and to the scalp. Then there were various other cuts throughout the rest of his hair. It looked so funny. He also knew he was in BIG trouble. He's been warned before : NO ONE EXCEPT MOMMY cuts hair.

Of course he cried as he was confronted. So needless to say...Out came the scissors and clippers and OFF came his hair. It was a sad day in the short life of Ty. Now he looks soooo different. We are still having a tough time recognizing him. It has changed his whole look. I'm glad that his hair grows pretty fast. Hopefully it will have grown all back by Christmas.

WHO IS THAT KID? LOL

Finally Updating !

Wow, It's been almost a month since my last post. Well let's see whats been going on.

School started and has been in session for 6 weeks now. Everyone is doing GREAT!!!

Seth is a senior taking some classes at the HS and some at the tech center. You know he's a computer geek. He's been looking into colleges...OH MY! The one he'd love to go to cost about $90,000.00 for his BA degree. WOW. I think we'll be looking at some of the universities around here that are MUCH less costly. He's going today for a job interview at ShopKo by us. Hope he gets it.

Cody, 9th grade, got his mid-term grades and they were awesome. 6 A's and 1 B+. He's really trying to do good this year. He doesn't care for school very much but this year he's putting in a GREAT effort. He knows that his grade start counting now. I'm glad to see him doing so well. He really likes his wood working class.

Logan also is doing well. He's in the 8th grade. He works hard to keep his grades up. He has just finished making up some work that he missed when he was sick so we'll see how his grade are now. They were good but now they might be great. He's playing the Tuba again this year in the symphonic band. He seems to enjoy it!

Chase is now in the 5th grade and love his teacher. It's a man teacher and he's lots of fun. He's doing well in school. He just has to remember to do his homework when he gets home and not when it's time for bed. He really enjoys skateboarding!

Then there is Carson. He's now in 3rd grade and has lots of little girls who like him. He love school (most of the time) and does very well. I suspect he'll get all A's again this year. He's very bright and sweet and active. And his hair has grown out so he has lots of curls and he LOVES them.

And last but far not least, Brynn and Ty. Brynn missed the cut off to go to Kindergarten by a couple months. Too Bad! She really is ready. So we just do counting and writing and things like that at home. Then there is Ty who is just a total 3 year old. And boy has he been getting into LOTS of mischief. He is so cute though it makes it hard to get mad at him. :)

So that's what's been going on in our kids lives. We are still the same...Fat and Sassy. Steves looking into finding a new company to work for. Maybe one that will pay him. That would be so nice. He is always fighting with the company he's with now for his pay. So time to find something new.

See how exciting our Adam world is... bet you wish you lived with us too. LOL

Happy Birthday to Shelly

My dear friend, Joyce called me yesterday and left a message that she had a surprise for me. I waited a little before returning her call as I thought that she should be at school teaching. But finally I decided to call. She answered the phone all bright and cheery. She asked me to hold for a minute...Then I heard it...She had her entire 2nd grade class sing a very resounding 'Happy Birthday to You". It was soooo cool. What a great surprise. She says she does it for all her family and friends. I'm glad she did. It made my day!

Summer Day at the Park

(Ty, Chase, Carson and Brynn on slide)

This last week we took a trip to the park. It was finally not too hot. We actually had a park hopper day. We ate lunch and played at one park. Then went to another park for more playing. It was rather funny at the first park. Carson and David(Jennifers son) spun around on the tire swing for a VERY long time. They had a blast, until...

we drove to the next park. Jennifer is a little bit of a crazy driver at times and by the time we got to the park half the car was sick! David and Carson were on the verge of tossiong their cookies (I wasn't much better). It was pretty funny when they all collasped on the grass. Anyhow after some needed rest everyone was back to normal, playing and running around. It was a beautiful day. We all had a wonderful time!

Summer Swimming Lessons

Brynn and Ty took swimming lessons this summer. They learned to float on their back and flip from tummy to back. They also learned to "scoop" and kick. It was an adventure the first few times as Brynn pitched a huge fit and didn't want to get in the water. Ty was very eager and ready to go. But...Ty did end up a little scared but worked through it.

All in all they had a great time. Fear is gone (which I don't know if that is good or bad). But I feel better knowing that they can flip over and get to the side of a pool if they needed. A special thanks to my friend and Visiting Teacher for inviting then to her swim school.
They had a great time.

FIRE PIT- FIRE DEPARTMENT

Well I'm actually updating...surprise! We were just in our backyard going to roast marshmallows. The fire got to smokey so we decided to put it out. Can't smoke marshmallows! Anyhow, our dear friends (LOL) next door called the fire department on us. So we just had a very pleasent visit from the neighborhood Sandy Fireman. The kids loved it. Basically we were ok to have the firepit but since there was too much smoke there was a complaint. Now instead of just saying something to us they had to call the FD. How dumb was that. Anyhow, we'll continue to have fires in our firepit and continue to roast marshmallows, hot dogs, make foil dinners and what ever else we feel like cooking. People need to stop being such babies. Learn to speak for yourself!!!!
