loooong night. When the Doc finally got the chance to look at it the bleeding had slowed a little. But as soon as he cleaned it off it started all over again. He tried to stop it but had no luck. He finally decides to remove the nail. The nail had snapped right at the base of his nail bed. So he removed the nail...which I dealt with really well. It wasn't until an hour of him messing around with it and him finally leaving that it hit me. UGH!!! I almost passed out. They got me on the bed next to Cody and put cold rags on my head. I felt sick. I don't have a strong stomach for that stuff and that was REALLY bad! Anyhow I felt better after about 30 minutes and Codys toe was still bleeding. The Doc said that he could go home and keep it up. He was going to call the Podiatrist first thing in the morning. So we went home, very tired! The Podiatrist call early the next day. We were there by 9am. When he took the bandage off (that had bled through) Codys toe was STILL bleeding.
They figured the nail nicked an artery when it snapped. He just bandaged it up again and told him to stay off it for the next few days. He did. He kept it up high and got treated like royalty. Everyone waited on him. He loved it. We went back to the Podiatrist on the following Monday and he said that it looked ok and said that it should start getting better. It did finally stop bleeding for the most part! It was quite the adventure!

This is our dear friend Tom Turkey. He joins us every year for our Thanksgiving feast. He hasn't yet gotten dress for the occasion. We told him that we would help him get ready. When we were done dressing him up we invited him to warm up next to the fire. And told him to let us baste him with oils so he wouldn't get burned. He gladly obliged. He was such a good sport. Everyone really enjoyed having him around. The kids REALLY enjoyed him a lot. Thanks Tom for always coming to our Thanksgiving day dinner. You were awesome as usual.

Well as you can see Seth had another Birthday on November 2nd! Wow...can't believe that he is 17 years old already! Time sure flies. I can close my eyes and see him on the day he was born. I can't believe that that was so long ago. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SETH!!!
Seth did get his favorite birthday present. He love's Tim's Jalapeno chips. The party size bag and just for him. I think they were gone by the end of the night. He enoyed them!

Then we made "Creepy Crawlers" for, at least, 2 hours. They loved that. We then had a feast...BBQ Hot Dogs, Baked Beans, Chips and Soda. After our early dinner the kids decorated rice crispy squares into FRANKENSTIENs! They were really cute and oh so yummy! When the food was gone and
We love to TRICK or TREAT our neighborhood because it's pretty flat and because there is always GREAT candy and treats. Full size candy bars, Sunny D drinks, popcorn balls. You name it, they got it! Surprised they didn't get a stomach too. We
were out for about 2 hours begging

Wow! I can't believe that our little princess is 5 already! Time sure does race by us, doesn't it?! For the past year or so Brynn has been asking to have her ears pierced. Steve told her that she could have them done on her 5th birthday. The day/night before her birthday (which was yesterday 10/22) all she could talk about was getting her ears pierced. She asked Steve if she should take a bath before she went so that she would be all clean. She couldn't go to sleep, until after midnight. All she could do was SMILE!!! If you said anything about her birthday or her ears a HUGE smile would creep up her face. It was soooo funny. I can't believe that she was so excited! So yesterday, her birthday, she was up bright and early. "When are we going to get my ears pierced?" she kept asking. Finally, after her SHOWER, we go ready to go
. We took some pics of her ears before the big event! See, virgin ears! Such a cutie! We jumped in the car and headed to Wal-Mart. When we got there we showed her all the pretty earring and let her choose which ones she wanted. She choose the pretty pink flowers with clear centers. We told the clerk and she pulled them out.
The clerk told us that we should do both ears at once so it would be faster. Less traumatic. But the other girl would be back in 45 minutes. We said ok and then went looking around the store. When were are walking around she decided that she wanted to wait til she was 6, then 51 and then settled on 8. We told her that she had to do it today because they were already waiting for
her. When we returned they were waiting. She wanted to sit on my lap. They cleaned her ears and she giggled. They marked them and she smiled. When they pulled out the piercing guns, she FREAKED! So, needless to say, I had to hold her down while they did each ear separate. But finally through all the squirming and screaming, IT WAS DONE! And she was FINE! She is really glad that she got them done. She says they are still a little sore but she has been great about turning them and having me put the solution on them. She keeps looking at them in the mirror. She looks BEAUTIFUL! Maybe she will get new earrings for Christmas.

Brynn and Ty took swimming lessons this summer. They learned to float on their back and flip from tummy to back. They also learned to "scoop" and kick. It was an adventure the first few times as Brynn pitched a huge fit and didn't want to get in the water. Ty was very eager and ready to go. But...Ty did end up a little scared but worked through it.
All in all they had a great time. Fear is gone (which I don't know if that is good or bad). But I feel better knowing that they can flip over and get to the side of a pool if they needed. A special thanks to my friend and Visiting Teacher for inviting then to her swim school.
